
A holiday in S.Benedetto del Tronto is a journey from
the Riviera delle Palme to the Piceno's hills, up to
the National Parks of the near Apennines areas. S.Benedetto

cooked following the real recipes of the sailors, the

contemporary art located in the pedestrian precinct,

S.Benedetto is also its history enclosed in the old
village called "Paese Alto": the ruins of
the town walls, the little square with the viewpoint
and the symbol of the town -the Torrione- which belongs
to the old fortified Gualtieri's castle (XII - XIII
cent.). There are also S.Benedetto Martire Church (XI
cent.), Palazzo Radicioni and Palazzo Piacentini.
Along the coast there are other interesting places
to visit among sea, entertainment and culture. Grottammare
is one of these for its interesting historical village,
amid pinewoods and perfume of orange trees. Cupra Marittima
is a leap into the history for its ancient ruins of
settlings that date from the Iron Age and the Roman
Age.
Over the hills there are unique landscapes for the
gentleness of lines and colours as well as unforgettable
villages: Offida, its mysterious charm and its S.Maria
della Rocca Church; Ripatransone and its great history;
Acquaviva Picena with its stately medieval fortress;
Monteprandone with the old codex of S.Giacomo della
Marca.
There are also cities of art like Ascoli Piceno and
Fermo which abounding in churches, museums, old libraries
and wonderful landscapes.
The journey ends among the mountains of the National
Parks of the Monti Sibillini and Gran Sasso - Laga.
In this area there are towns like Amandola, Montefortino,
Montemonaco, Montegallo, Acquasanta Terme and Arquata
del Tronto which are worth visiting for their genuine
atmosphere and wholesome cooking. There are also places
like Pilato Lake and the Gole dell'Infernaccio which
are famous for their landscapes.
